Thong Lo Chair, rattan in a modern dialogue.

A chair that welcomes the natural wonders of rattan, its cylindrical form, its fibrous strength, and its elastic memory. A design that aspire to make a modern connection with the primitive material. A rattan frame is threaded through four fluidly formed brass joineries, and held firmly on a solid wood base. The wicker seat is elevated for airiness and the backrest flexes with body movements.

Created for Corner 43 Decor, a Thai Furniture Company, Thong Lo chair is a composition of three natural materials, combining hand crafting charms with industrial precisions; a fine balance of variables and controls.

Thong Lo is a Thai word for a golden cast, the name which derived from the use of the casted brass joineries.
