Pichaya is specialized in designing everyday products. He explores the utilities of organic surfaces and studies the comfort of organic forms. His designs are gentle, precise, and refine in details. PIchaya is poetic and thoughtful in his process, drawing contextual emotions between people, products, and places.
With over twenty years of design experience in Bangkok, New York and San Francisco, Pichaya has designed a variety of products, from smart devices to furniture to electric vehicles. He has also received several prestigious awards, including IF Design Awards, Good Design Awards, and Red Dot Awards.
The Studio
Located in Bangkok, a small studio by a garden is a peaceful place to draw, to build and to test prototypes. Here is where an idea can develop into a beautiful functionality. Pichaya is hands-on in a design process and begins every design with a hand sketch. He prefers hand drawn curves and thinks that they feel softer than a perfect one. He sketches loosely to free his mind, and builds 3D models with precision. Simple prototypes are made in-house to feel the fit and the comfort. Industrial Design is a tactile experience, and Pichaya often finds his answers through the sense of touch.
This small studio provides a full Industrial Design service, from contextual studies, concept development, technical design development, and design supports for engineering and manufacturing.
